The Giddy Galaxy

Part 0

The ancient species of cats have long disguised as themselves as the furry, all loving, four legged friends of the bipedal humans. Some days, they are just plain lazy. On other occasions, hungry, stealthy or hyper-energetic.

Several years ago they got trapped in their planet. They definitely did not stay for the nice beaches, clean air or good intergalactic travel possibilities, since the planet had neither.

By the way they behave and look after each other, it appears they have retired as a species on the blue marble. Some older family members are able to pass stories from centuries ago to the kittens. Stories about cats roaming foreign beaches, fishing their own lunches. Tales that instill danger to the little kittens. Other storytelling is just aimed to allow them to go for a peaceful nap. The fast majority of the napping cats do these days is peaceful, only some of them practice the art and science of hyper-energetic sleeping.

Yet, humans only seem to care about short motion graphics of cats.

Humans got themselves trapped in this planet too, but that is mainly due to their own account. Contrary to the cats, they evolved there as a species. The figured out a certain amount of things, such as making their own breakfast, traveling around the planet using wheels and wings, and of course air pollution. They are not aware of hyper-energetic sleeping though.

In the galaxy there are various forms of sleeping that are even more interesting. You cannot deny the meditative benefits of sleeping underwater, as practicable on some giant gas planets. Sleep with ones eyes open, and you can rewind most of what you have seen later.

This story is not about sleeping.

As species, both cats or humans are sleepy. They are not aware of what is happening beyond what they can see, hear, feel, taste or smell.

This story is about waking up.
